Deutsches Afrikakorps is a confirmed playable faction in Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand. The official Steam listing names it as one of four factions and confirms faction-specific progression, randomized between-wave choices, twelve escalating waves, dynamic events, and boss units. It does not publish a complete Deutsches Afrikakorps roster, the exact start state, a vehicle path, resource costs, a repair system description, or a fixed faction build. The correct player task is to observe the options that the current client presents and tie every conclusion to the defensive problem it actually solved.
Establish the faction’s live starting context
Choose Deutsches Afrikakorps and record the exact client label, selected difficulty, map display if shown, and date. Then identify the protected objective, the approaches that feed it, and a fallback point behind the first defense. This produces a baseline that belongs to Final Stand rather than a generic Afrikakorps guide. The standalone title has AppID 4836540; Company of Heroes 3 AppID 1677280 remains a separate product even when a bundle places both names on one Store page.
The first objective should be narrow. Watch for the approach that forces a late rotation, or for the first break that prevents recovery. Avoid deciding in advance that an option is required. Final Stand’s public description supports adaptation across wave choices, not an unchanged construction order from a different Company of Heroes mode.
Evaluate a specific reported observation carefully
Patrik Severin’s independent PC review described a Deutsches Afrikakorps run in which an option related to a vehicle that could tow wrecks and repair them appeared among between-wave choices. The review also described a choice between an air-defense-oriented option and another offensive option in a match with enemy air pressure. Those are useful, dated observations from one reviewer. They are not an official roster, a promise that the same options will appear, or proof of an exact capability in every current build.
Use the observation as a prompt for the live client: if a named choice appears, read its current text, record the wave and the problem it answers, and test the displayed effect in that run. If it does not appear, do not force it into the plan. If a similar option appears but the wording differs, preserve the current wording rather than transferring the review’s description as an immutable rule.
Compare options by the pressure they relieve
Steam says a player chooses randomized units or abilities after waves and that the selection persists for the run. For each Deutsches Afrikakorps offer, begin with the prior wave. Did a route become unreadable? Did two demands pull coverage apart? Did the first breach leave no safe response point? Pick the option only after the failure is named, then observe the next relevant pressure. The purpose is not to rank the offer universally; it is to see whether it changes the condition that caused the loss.
If an option looks powerful but does not answer the recorded failure, keep its name in the note and skip the broad recommendation. This approach still produces useful guidance when public documentation is sparse. It distinguishes direct evidence from a player’s current experiment and leaves room for a patch to change a selection, a map, or the underlying interaction.
Pressure: time
Check whether the next approach becomes readable early enough to make a deliberate response.
Pressure: coverage
Check whether the selected option leaves another route or the objective safer to watch.
Pressure: recovery
Check whether a first breach still ends the defense immediately or leaves a second decision point.
Separate a run choice from faction progression
Final Stand includes persistent upgrades between runs in faction-specific progression trees. The Deutsches Afrikakorps progress screen therefore belongs in a different record from a temporary offer. When it is open, note its exact displayed perk or ability name, visible requirement, and date. Do not assume a review observation describes a current tree level, and do not call a long-term upgrade required for an ordinary run unless the client explicitly shows that relationship.
Before comparing attempts, check whether the persistent state changed. Otherwise, a new result may be mistakenly attributed to faction identity when it followed a different long-term unlock. This is also why an inherited parent-game doctrine guide cannot fill the gap: it may address a different product, patch, or mode even if it uses a familiar faction name.
Respond to events without inventing counters
The Steam page confirms 18 dynamic events and 36 boss units but no faction-specific event list. When one appears, note the exact on-screen name, the wave, and what part of the line became unsafe. Keep it separate from a boss note if both are present. No public evidence in this guide supports a named counter, trigger rate, reward, or schedule for Deutsches Afrikakorps.
Next, read Wave Defense for the protected-objective model, Persistent Upgrades for long-term state, and Faction Overview for the full confirmed roster. This page will become more specific only when a current official source or repeatable, version-recorded live test supports the detail.
